Guide in Kyoto
Our association is an organization officially recognized by Doshisha University.
Received an award from the Japan National Tourism Organization at the end of March 2024
for contributing to international friendship. We are Japan's only volunteer organization made up
of university professors, lecturers, executives who are working or worked for international companies,
and excellent students who are good at English and have deep knowledge of Kyoto's culture.
You can visit Doshisha University with our guide and have lunch at cafeteria and enjoy chatting
with the students during your tour in Kyoto. We also guide you to Nara from Kyoto.
Guide in Tokyo
We design sightseeing itineraries that meet the individual wishes of foreign tourists visiting Japan, and provide you with a tour of Tokyo that will perfectly satisfy you. At the same time, we offer day trip guides from Tokyo to a wide range of tourist destinations, including Kamakura, Hakone, and Nikko. Our guides in Tokyo are also graduates from Doshisha University and mostly former executives worked for international companies and fluent in languages. Some of us are national government licensed guides. We do not just guide you, but talk about any
subjects about Japan and international affairs icluding economy, culture, education, healthcare systems, politics
to build mutual understandings.

Who we are
Goodwill Guide Doshisha SGG Joe Tokyo & Kyoto (DSGGJ)is a non-profit voluntary organization composed of alumni, professors, and students of Doshisha University and Doshisha Women’s College of Liberal Arts in Kyoto Japan. We offer guided tour services by our volunteer members living in Tokyo Metropolitan area and Kansai area which includes Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka cities . The areas we cover are the most interesting sight-seeing destinations for visitors from abroad. You will enjoy both modern and traditional life and culture of Japan with our members who have outstanding careers in business, culture and education. Our services includes guiding visitors for sightseeing, interpretation, and reception at international meeting and events. DSGGJ is authorized and assisted by Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).
The Imadegawa Campus of Doshisha University located in front of the old Imperial Place in the center of Kyoto, which founded in 1875 by Dr. Joe Neejima.
